Owners beware!!!! Pay attention to engine lugging and transmission not downshifting properly when you start up a grade or hill. This will happen @ low speeds & hi-way. Having a 9 speed transmission, I should not even feel this unit shift. Oh silly me, that's just it , it doesn't!!!! Have had this issue since new.
Been to the dealership 3 times & no fix. The last time, the car was there for 4 1/2 weeks!! GMC was involved receiving "all sorts of data". They claim there is nothing wrong & that is how this unit should act. I say that's crap.
Let these brilliant engineers fix what's already been installed in vehicles before conjuring up newer & more complicated garbage!! Better yet, take out all these sensors & computers & place them !!!!

We have a '20 2L 9-speed transmission with 9,600 miles on it and the other day the car started to no be able to shift past 3rd gear. Its under warranty and at the dealer, but there is no way I'm going to put up with them having the car for over 4 weeks.

I solved my issue with the terrain this week. I too bad because my wife liked the car. Just traded it in for a 21 Acadia. It's a world of difference. Well worth the extra money. Gets just as good fuel mileage with the V6 9 spd. Good luck to the next owner!!!!!!
As for the new Terrains's offering only 1.5 L NO turbo 9 spd., wait til the complaints come in on that set-up!!!!
