Hi guys, I am looking for the answer to: does my 2010 Terrain have a automatic interior light shut off if a door is left opened.
My wife's 2010 Terrrain has gone dead twice now and each time she is not sure if the door was closed, she leaves the keys in the car as it is secured in our alarmed garage, any input would be appreciated.

OK I messed up already, this was supposed to be my introduction thread, hi everyone, we have a 2010 loaded Terrain Black with chrome stock wheels, we love the vehicle and have had some minor issues that have been fixed, hope we can help anyone with questions and I hope we can get some advice and answers also.

Welcome to the thread. I have found the following information on page 5-4 of your owner's manual:

"The dome lamp, cargo lamp and foot lamp inside the vehicle come on when any door is opened, if the dome lamp is in the door position. In addition, these lamps come on when the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) unlock button is pressed. They stay on for 20 seconds or until a door is opened. After the door is opened and then closed, the light remains on for 20 seconds, or until the ignition is turned to ON/RUN."

This leads me to believe that the lights will shut off after 20 seconds when the door is closed. I am not sure when it is on. I would have to recommend contacting your local dealer for more information. I can also see if I can find more information with the last eight of your VIN. Contact me privately for more assistance. Thanks, but I guess I entered my question wrong, my wife sometimes does not fully close one of the car doors, the light is now on, my question is shouldn't the light shut off after a few minutes even though one of the doors is not closed all the way? My 2006 envoy Denali turns off any lights that are on after you leave the vehicle even with a door completely opened, this protects the battery from going dead.

I would not be able to say for sure being that the description in the manual is a little vague. I can check into this further with the last eight of your VIN as I mentioned previously.

I am think this that i am facing this issue same time and also my family does not fully close one of the door..so its also our fault that we can't check properly..
