Long story short, im trying to stay out of car payments for a bit. So my 2011 gmc terrain v6 had the dreaded timing chain issue. My local dealership quoted me a price, told me to bring it in amd the parts would be there the next day and within 2 business days it would be done. Well, 2 more days will make 2 weeks that they have had it and still isnt done. Now they had issues getting parts in and blamed gmc. For it. Parts actually came in 3 days later, not overnight. Then, not all parts even came in on that 3rd day. 1 part actually came in 1 full week after them having it. I call today and they told me the guy was under the car. 30 mins later a different guy called and said the mechanic that was working on it had a death in the family. Im just getting a big run around. How should i approach them about adjusting the cost of the repair? Its taken way longer than promised and my patience is running thin. This is a certified gm dealership, by the way. I guess only one guy can fix my vehicle. No one can cover for him if hes out?

Sorry for the rant, but im beyond frustrated but havent delt with dealerships before.

Where you provided with a loaner vehicle the entire time ? If so maybe bitching would coax a few bucks off the price ?But, if no loaner, I would expect the value of a rental off the price the entire time even if a rental was not had. then ask for a couple years of free oil changes too.

When they called yesterday, the guy said he was trying to see if he could get me in a loaner. Said he would call back, but never did. But he only wanted to put me in it for 1 day because i would have got the loaner today and supposedly the vehicle is going to be fixed tomorrow. But again, no call back yesterday to actually put me in the loner. And i have no clue how much a loaner would cost per day. All i know is i want some momey knocked off this price.

Mo...

Sorry for the hassles you're getting from the Dealer..they are NOT all created equal as I have learned over the years...Hope you get it all sorted out soon..before it ruins the flavor of ownership..

BTW..Like you, I always encourage EVERYONE signing up here, to put their Location and/or Country/State..(No addresses needed), but this way folks in YOUR area may have a better handle on your unique problems and issues and advise you of a BETTER dealership, if one exists in your area.

But go to your PROFILE and add YOUR lOCATION..IT WILL SHOW UP UNDER YOUR USERNAME/AVATAR.

Thanks and welcome to the forum.
