I have a 2012 Terrain SLE 2.4l FWD, 182hp & 172lb-ft. Its the most basic of all terrains!! my goal is to put out 300hp+ and a RWD conversion. Is it possible to do this? What engine would actually fit? What would be necessary to modify with a swap? If I convert to RWD would the car weight distribution be affected? As much as possible I'm trying to make it Factory like, If GMC decided to make a sport version of the Terrain.. This would be it.

Hi, and welcome...When you get a chance, let us know where you're from...it helps with problem solving.

Anyway...I'm guessing and think maybe you could find a salvaged Terrain in that year range, that was set up with a 3.6L V6 (301hp)and AWD....this would get you what your after..Should be a drop in and make sure you get the ECM for it as well.

my terrain looks like the bottom one you posted a picture of. 300hp is easy with your current motor. add in a cobalt ss supercharged setup and find a reputable tuner.
