I would go lighter in the rear, just because you may have issuing seeing at night time. Having tints that dark, are quite bother sum sometimes.

I think even with 35% tints on the front those are still a ta to dark, if you want to play it safe I'd just do 40% in the front and 30 in the rear.

I have everything but the fronts totally blacked out. Rears have tint over the factory tint. The fronts are a ....tad ;) darker than legal. All for $100. Our trucks are not exactly cop magnets. I have never had a problem.

Update to tint issues ( Ontario Canada )

Been some time for this thread but we just bought and had our 2017 Terrain front windows tinted ( same as backs). Not an issue, I was told that the only issue is when you need to have a safety done. If fronts are tinted, they must peel it off to pass the safety. Then, you can add the tint again...what waste when you can pay to simply install it again ! Never an issue here in Ontario with the police, wife and kids complained because it was too bright inside the Terrain (probably affecting their screen viewing) ! When are we tinting the front windows ? LOL

Old thread but this is state dependent.

In PA, an SUV can have tint as dark as you want on rear and back windows. Front windows have to be 70% light transmittance, or, factory tint.

Rules change if it's a passenger car.
